John Larkin’s Scatland Foundation

Before the world lost him too soon, Scatman John (John Larkin) began work on his ‘baby’: The Scatland Foundation – a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the worldwide community of people who stutter.
For John, fame itself wasn’t important, but his platform was. His ultimate goal was to help people who stutter fight the stigma and shame he’d carried since childhood, and to ensure the world understood stuttering. What mattered most to him was educating the public, dispelling myths, and helping others find the global stuttering community, as he had.
Sadly, the Foundation was dissolved after John’s death in 1999, its work left unfinished. But the need for his voice is stronger than ever.
Now, through renewed interest in John’s life and legacy, we’re exploring whether there is support for re-establishing The Scatland Foundation. If you believe in John’s vision – or if you’ve been touched by his music or his message, we’d love to hear from you at info@scatlandfoundation.com
Thank you.
